Sophia Chapman

Senior Manager, Forest Service National Managed Service

Sophia Chapman joined GovStrive in 2015 following a distinguished 37½-year career with the U.S. Army and the USDA Forest Service. During her tenure with the Forest Service, she held several senior leadership roles, including Deputy Assistant Director of Field Service Staffing Operations, Branch Chief for Pay, Leave, Performance and Awards, and Human Resource Officer for the Pacific Southwest Region, covering California, Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands.

Her expertise spans multiple human resources disciplines, with a strong focus on change management, operational efficiency, and quality improvement.

At GovStrive, Ms. Chapman previously served as Supervising Lead for the Forest Service Staffing and National Qualifications teams, where she provided strategic oversight and technical leadership for federal staffing and classification operations.

Currently, as Senior Manager, she leads the Forest Service National Managed Service teams, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with contractual and organizational standards. She works closely with Forest Service leadership and manages internal supervisors and contract leads to drive performance and service delivery.

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys spending time with her husband and attending her grandchildren’s school sporting events. She resides in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
