Introducing FedChart – Automated Organizational Chart Development and Maintenance

Press Release | July 31, 2019

Web-based tool saves federal agencies time and money for workforce planning and position management

Arlington, VA and Dublin, GA, July 31, 2019 – GovStrive, a leader in federal management consulting, managed services and workforce solutions, today announced the release of FedChart, a web-based tool that helps federal agencies automate the cumbersome and expensive processes of organizational chart development and maintenance. FedChart, unlike other applications, was designed specifically with federal requirements for position and manpower management in mind.

Federal agencies strive to create and maintain organizational charts which can represent both the organizational structure and onboarded employees, along with the relationships and relative ranks of the agency’s positions and jobs. However, building and subsequently updating and maintaining accurate organizational charts is an error-prone, manual, time-consuming and expensive process that is difficult to accomplish accurately.

FedChart is a web-based tool that automates the development of organizational charts and provides the foundation for effective workforce planning and position management. The automation of organizational chart development and maintenance reduces HR’s workload, especially for larger agencies where manually creating charts is less feasible and more cumbersome. In addition, FedChart includes a data clean-up module that enables HR to work in parallel with approved agency users to identify any organization or position-level inaccuracies and provides a sustainable long-term capability to track issues, recommend changes, obtain the appropriate approvals.

FedChart replaces manual, error-prone tools such as PowerPoint and Visio that agencies typically use for organizational chart development and maintenance. Organizational chart updating that typically takes days or weeks is reduced to an hour or less.

“In working directly with numerous agencies on their workforce challenges, I’ve seen directly how difficult it is them to find and dedicate resources to solve the problem of generating organizational charts and keeping them current,” said Katrina Hsen, director, management consulting at GovStrive. “We’re excited to deliver FedChart to federal agencies, making an extremely difficult, expensive and time-consuming task now a simple, automated process that is easily incorporated into their ongoing operations, freeing HR resources to focus on more strategic issues.”

“GovStrive is constantly partnering with federal agencies to improve their workforce processes and reduce or eliminate tasks that take away from agencies’ ability to focus on their missions,” said James Sasser, President and Chief Executive Officer at GovStrive. “Following the recently released FedViews, which automates FEVS reporting and provides key insight, we’re excited to continue to build on our offerings to help federal agencies better manage their workforces.”
